Baby You're A FireWork!

BIB had the amazing opportunity to go to Mesa, Arizona this week and participate in the LDSFS Support Group for the birth moms. It was such an exciting night for us. We spent weeks getting things ready to go...and then it was finally here!

Our theme for the evening was "Living the Life you Imagine"

Board Vice Chair-Todd Mitchell was our keynote speaker and he gave some incredible motivation to the birth moms about "owning the night" and living the life that they imagine!

He used lyrics from FIREWORK to help ignite their fire! He was amazing and I wanted share what you missed:

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting throught the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

It was such a great night...we were able to give a basket away along with several Big Tough Girl shirts. We had plenty of time to chat with all of the birth moms and take tons of pictures!

We had an AMAZING time and LOVE LOVE LOVE all the BTG's of Arizona!

We took tons of pictures and all the girls that were there are in at least ONE picture. You can purchase the CD of over 50 pictures from our event.

  1. This was such an awesome event Ashley. I was hanging on every word. Of course I will save my personal experience of it for my post. One thing I want to say is the picture of me really wakes me up and makes me thankful to Todd for his willingness to help me! ;) WOW ha ha. You and your family are so lovely!

  3. I am curious why you would charge for photos you took at an event for birthmothers. When you donate to birthmothers in other aspects. Many birthmothers place because they can not take care/give their child everything they think their child deserves. Finances are huge. So why charge?

  4. Thank you for your comment and that is a great question, as we do support and donate to the birthmothers in so many ways. Because BIB is a Fedral non-profit organization everything that is purchased goes directly back to the product that BIB donates to the birthmoms. For example, the purchase of a $5.00 cd from one birthmom goes to by a journal for another birthmom...in hopes to make the full circle..BIB supports the birthmoms and the birthmoms support each other. IF of course there is a birthmom that wants a CD and cannot afford it BIB is MORE THAN HAPPY to send one at no cost to them. They would just need to email us at donations_blessingsinabasket@hotmail.com

Thank you so much for your question, love and concern for the birthmothers!
